NC Simmental Association

Field Day

April 2, 2011

Hosted by the NC Jr Simmental Association

 Location: Bell Farm, Gwyn Rd, Burlington, NC 27217

From 10:00am to 3:00pm

 Joining us will be:

Dr. Sharon Freeman – Research Operations Manager at NCSU, Animal Science Dept.

Dr. Joe Cassady - Associate Professor at NCSU in the Animal Science Dept.

Dr. Mark Alley - Clinical Asst. Professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine

*They will teach on a variety of topics from BQA, pasture management, genetics and more.

Noel Torres from Pfizer will discuss vaccine handling and storage and more.

Amanda Miller Olson will overview her duties as a meat inspector and overview the Department of Agriculture as a whole.

Rossie Blinson, 2011 NC Beef Ambassador, and Rachel Bell, 2010 NC Beef Ambassador, will demonstrate healthy, tasty recipes using some of the 29 lean cuts of beef!

Bryan Blinson from the NC Cattlemen’s Association will be on hand to discuss marketing your beef and also to answer questions.

Lunch will be served by the Juniors, featuring hamburgers made with NC-grown ground beef. A generous donation will be appreciated with all funds going to the NCJSA to support yearly activities.

The following is information on our NC Junior Simmental Association Field Day which will be on April 2 in Burlington.  Everyone is welcome to attend!
