The North Carolina Simmental Association is proud to offer a scholarship to a student planning to pursue of pursuing a career in an agricultural-related field of study.  The scholarship will be given to a well deserving student who is a resident of North Carolina.  The amount of the scholarship is $500.00. 

             Eligibility requirements will be based on:           

  • 1.      Need for financial assistance

  • 2.      Satisfactory scholastic record

  • 3.      Leadership potential

  • 4.      Character

Preference will be given but not limited to students actively involved with Simmental cattle.  Applicants in high school or college must enroll or be enrolled in a field of agriculture or in an agriculturally - related field.  The two-year Agriculture Institute at NCSA qualifies.  Community colleges and technical institutes will also qualify. 

Applicant must fill out the application forms completely in order to be considered, attach a photo, SAT score and transcript of high school grades or college grades and submit to the Scholarship Committee by July 15.  All information supplied by you and your family will be treated as confidential information.

The applicant must be accepted by the college of his/her choice.  The applicant must submit two character references from someone other than a relative.  The applicant may be called on for a brief interview with the Scholarship Committee.  It is the nominee’s responsibility to make all arrangements for college admission.  A grade point average of 2.0 must be maintained to qualify if presently enrolled in college.
